This five-storey state-of-the-art facility houses a 470 seat auditorium, science centre (including seven laboratories), performing arts centre with specialist,high-tech drama and music classrooms, eight Middle School general learning classrooms, tuckshop, roof-top play area and administration facilities. Whilst the Bernadette Centre is designed to accommodate all year levels, particular emphasis has been placed on providing aspecialist learning environment forthe unique developmental and educational requirements of Middle School students.
The building has been designed with future intent and contains a range of environmentaland sustainabilitymeasures including high efficiency glass, high level thermal insulation and design features, gas hot water and power monitoring. Two large storm water tanks, with a 290,000-litre capacity, collect water from the building’s large curved roof and service all the toilets within the building.
Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes
Completed in conjunction with the Bernadette Centre, the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes is the jewel in the College's crown and plays an important role in the life of all those involved inthe Lourdes Hill College community. Directly overlooking the Brisbane River and adjacent to theheritage-listed Duhig Hall, the Chapel's modern design has been developed to reference both the College's history and future.
Stella Sports Centre
The personal health and wellbeing of our students, staff and wider community is integral to our sustainability as a College. This modern outdoor facility, covered by a 1360sqm curved steel roof, houses two full size multi-purpose courts. In conjunction with the Good Samaritan Centre, this facility houses the College's land-based Health and Physical Educationand sporting program and is fitted out to support competition netball, basketball, tennis, volleyball and futsal.
