Overview
Lourdes Hill College (LHC) provides a broad range of sporting activities that provide opportunities for students with varying interests and abilities to become involved with sport. The philosophy of sport at Lourdes Hill College is therefore based on the provision of a broad range of sporting activities, equal opportunity for all students to participate in sport and for individuals to enjoy their involvement in the sports offered at LHC.
Affiliations
The College has a long standing relationship with the Catholic Girls Secondary School Sport Association (CGSSSA) and Brisbane School Girls Sporting Association (BSGSA) among others. Our membership to the Gateway and Riverside District for Metropolitan East enables our students to gain further representative honours at district, regional, state and national levels.
Facilities
The College provide a variety of sporting facilities including the Good Samaritan Centre, a multi-purpose indoor sports facility accommodating aerobics, netball, basketball and volleyball and many other co-curricular activities. An outdoor tennis court provides students with an opportunity to train and receive additional coaching.
The College is fortunate in its position on the Brisbane River and boasts an on-campus water sports centre (Tugulawa) fully equipped water sports facility that provides boat storage, conference room facilities, fully equipped kitchen and amenities.
In addition, the College also has a 25m swimming pool, fully equipped weights room and spinning room. Additional facilities include a synthetic long/ triple jump track, grass netball and riverside multi-sports court.

Our Coaching Philosophy
The college’s co-curricular sport program is more than a supplement to the day to day curriculum, it focuses on the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual development of our students and maximises participation with the intent to provide enjoyment and strives to encourage individuals to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
