The Lourdes Hill College Inaugural Junior School Japan Tour is an exciting opportunity for students to participate in an immersive international learning experience. The proposed tour dates are Saturday 25 September to Monday 4 October 2027.

The purpose of the tour is to extend classroom learning through authentic, real-world experiences while fostering global citizenship, cultural understanding, independence, and meaningful relationships with students from our long-standing sister school, Toyo Eiwa Elementary School in Tokyo.

Students will experience a carefully planned program that combines cultural exploration, educational activities, and a unique homestay experience. Accommodation will include supervised hostel accommodation in Tokyo, as well as carefully coordinated homestays with Toyo Eiwa families. Throughout the tour, students will be supported by Lourdes Hill College staff and local coordinators to ensure a safe, enriching, and rewarding experience.

During the tour, students will:

  • Visit significant cultural, historical, and iconic sites throughout Tokyo.
  • Experience a day at Tokyo Disneyland.
  • Explore museums, science and innovation centres, and other educational attractions.
  • Participate in a homestay with families connected to Toyo Eiwa Elementary School.
  • Attend school-based activities and engage with Japanese students through shared learning experiences and cultural exchange.
  • Develop independence, resilience, intercultural understanding, and lifelong global connections through meaningful interactions with their Japanese peers and host families.
