The PPA Committee was pleased to welcome guests to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Past Pupils' Association following the Lourdes Day Mass on Sunday 9 February 2025.

The Association continues to engage transparently with Past Pupil members, College staff, and the wider community through the important AGM process. Highlights from the reports delivered at this meeting included:

  • A record number of Past Pupils returning to provide career insights to Senior School students at the annual Careers and Networking Evening.
  • The evolution of the Riverfire Celebration Evening into a unique reunion opportunity. The PPA was delighted to welcome a large contingent from the Class of 1984 celebrating 40 years, and another group celebrating 25 years since graduation, all amidst the fireworks over the Brisbane River.
  • The financial report of income and expenditure by the Committee for 2024. Noteworthy in this report was an increase in the donation made by the PPA to the Bacolod Kinder School Program, allowing four students to be fully supported in 2025. The PPA also holds cash reserves in term deposits, ready to fund the 2026 PPA Centenary celebrations.

LHC Principal, Mrs Kay Gleeson, delivered a wonderful report on the evolution of the College, highlighting the expansion of the Junior and Middle Schools, Master Plan building upgrades, and the launch of the new Strategic Plan, focusing on “Empower, Transform and Benedictine Values.”

Following these reports, the PPA Committee for 2024 stood down, and the new Committee for 2025 was elected as follows:

  • President: Jan Stone (Grad. 1980)
  • Vice-President: Stephanie Stone (Grad. 2011)
  • Secretary: Cath Parker (Grad. 1987)
  • Treasurer: Gabrielle McKee (Grad. 1984)
  • Staff Representative: Cadence O’Reilly (Grad. 2016)
  • Returning Committee Members: Leisa Crew (Grad. 1983), Maria Montefiore (Grad. 1971), and Robyn Garner (Grad. 1982)
  • New Committee Members: Natalie Davidson (Grad. 1984) and Isabelle Logan (Grad. 2023)
  • Sisters of the Good Samaritan Representative (Advisory): Sister Sonia Wagner (Grad. 1962 and teacher 1974-77)

The PPA Committee continues its work with a wonderfully diverse representation of graduation years, Isabelle Logan graduated in 2023, Natalie Davidson in 1984, and Stephanie Stone in 2011. There is also a strong depth of experience among the Committee, with past P&F Presidents, previous PPA Committee members, and executive office holders all contributing. We remain indebted to Sister Sonia for her valued counsel.

In 2025, the LHCPPA will continue to expand its reach to the Past Pupils and wider College community. We look forward to welcoming you at an event soon!
