The Lourdes Hill College Wellbeing Week was a joyful celebration of community, connection, and care. Across the week, students engaged in a vibrant program of activities nurturing and raising awareness of mental, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing.

Our student leaders played a key role in devising events that encouraged participation and reflection, while our staff supported the initiatives with enthusiasm. In Home Room there were gratitude activities and Christian meditation. The student vs staff netball game, raising awareness for the You Are Not Alone youth mental health organisation, was a highlight. The game ended with a tied score and the promise of a re-match later in the year! Bennie and Bernie’s Birthday Party occurred mid-week, where we celebrated our College mascots and the Benedictine values and joy they represent. The whole school pass the parcel game was a big hit, as was time spent together with Big and Little Sisters. Purple Day completed Wellbeing Week, where a sea of purple accessories adorned students and staff. It was a wonderful day celebrating our connection as the Lourdes Hill College community and the energy on campus was uplifting.

Wellbeing Week is a powerful reminder that looking after ourselves and each other is not just a one-week event, it’s a daily practice. At Lourdes Hill, we are committed to ensuring every student feels connected, supported, and valued.

Students can access a range of supports at any time. Our dedicated Student Wellbeing Team, including College Counsellors, House Pastoral Leaders, the Middle School Pastoral Leader, Dean of Student Wellbeing and Deputy Principal- Middle School and Students, is available for confidential conversations and guidance. Home Group teachers, Classroom Teachers and Heads of Faculty are other terrific sources of support. Our Big Sister Little Sister and House Sister programs provide peer support and role modelling for younger students.  Whether a student is facing academic stress, friendship challenges, or simply needs someone to talk to, help is always close by. All staff can be e-mailed for support and Student Wellbeing Team members can be found in the Berchmans building each day.

We encourage all students to reach out early and often. Wellbeing is a shared journey, and together, we can continue to build a culture of compassion, resilience, and hope.
