We are off and running – quite literally!

Term 2 has kicked off with great energy, as 970 students participated in the LHC Interhouse Cross Country event. Students ran, jogged, walked or sprinted their way through either a 1km Fun Run or a competitive 2km/3km course. The recent rainfall made the course particularly challenging, with soft ground underfoot.

Congratulations to Roche House, who took out the House win on the day!

We also acknowledge the following students for their outstanding age group results:

Service Groups

Term 2 Service Programs have commenced. Students from all year levels are warmly encouraged to join a service group at any time. Please refer to your Home Group noticeboard for the schedule or contact Ms Michelle Christopher at [email protected] for more information.

Culture

Our Debating Teams performed exceptionally well in Term 1 and continue with Rounds 3 and 4 of the QDU Debating Competition this Term. Many teams remain strong contenders for the Term 3 knockout finals. Updates will be shared later this Term.

On Wednesday 7 May, Mr Sean Andrews, Director of Culture – Performing Arts, led our first Junior School Immersive Music Performance. This special event celebrated our students’ musical growth in the Immersive Music Program.

Thank you to Mr Andrews for his leadership in bringing this program to life. Inspired by the research of Dr Anita Collins, this Program ensures all Junior School students learn an instrument and participate in ensemble rehearsals each Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.

This Term, our Music, Dance and Drama students are preparing for upcoming soirees and productions – we look forward to sharing their performances with our community.
