These performances promise to be joyful celebrations of the arts and a fitting way to close another wonderful year.

Service

Our service and outreach groups continue to make a meaningful impact across Brisbane. Meeting fortnightly, our service groups welcome all students who wish to contribute their time and compassion to others. Well done to the following groups on successful events and drives last term:

  • On the September holidays, our HOPe students were involved in the HOPe Holiday Program. We had 34 LHC students and 26 students from St Paul’s and St Flannan’s here for a fun day of activities. Well done to Olivia Kenny and Emma Casson for organising a fantastic day!
  • STAR collected sports shoes and socks to support the Santa Teresa Community in the Northern Territory.
  • Mini Vinnies came together for our annual Vinnies Up Late event to help raise awareness of the plight of people experiencing homelessness in Brisbane. This event was run by our Senior Vinnies Captains and saw Mini Vinnies engaging in activities and discussions about this important issue. Well done to Christina Dimitrios and Samara Ryall for your organisation and planning for this event.
  • Mind Over Matter promoted the importance of R U OK? Day conversations and held a successful bake sale.
  • St Vincent de Paul ran their annual Warm Clothes Drive, collecting many boxes of warm items for donation.

This term, our Year 6 students will be invited to try out service groups open to Years 7-12 before they start Middle School. Keep an eye out for messages about this. STAR will also be running their annual Crosses for Christmas drive where members of the community can purchase a hand-made cross painted by the women of Santa Teresa.
