Term 4 is set to be a special time in the Junior School as we celebrate learning, creativity, and community before our first year draws to a close. There are plenty of exciting events ahead for students and families to look forward to.
Our Junior School Performing Arts Evening will take place on Friday 17th October. Students will showcase their talents across ensembles, dance troupes, and drama performances. This evening will be a wonderful celebration of the creativity and collaboration that flourishes in our Junior School.
We are also looking forward to welcoming families for Grandparents Day on Wednesday 22nd October. Grandparents and other special people are invited to visit classrooms to experience what learning looks like in our Junior School, followed by a concert featuring performances from our Junior ensembles, dance troupes, aerobics teams, and choir.
Year 5 students have a hands-on term ahead, with a Street Science Incursion on Friday 31st October, where they’ll take part in exciting experiments linked to their science unit. Later in the term, they’ll visit Queensland Parliament House on Friday 21st November to explore how our government works. This will be an engaging lead-in to their Canberra trip next year where we visit Federal Parliament.
For Year 6, this term marks an important step towards moving into the Middle School in 2026. Students will enjoy a Stella Day on Wednesday 5th November, experiencing what it’s like to be a Year 7 for a day. They’ll also sit their first exam in Sasebo and be invited to visit Year 7–12 Service Groups to prepare for next year.
We’ll finish the term with a variety of events to celebrate the end of the year and to acknowledge the end of primary schooling for our Year 6 students. There will be a fun celebration day on Monday 17th November, and a Thanksgiving Mass and Award Ceremony for Year 5 and 6 on Tuesday 25th November.
We look forward to a wonderful final term. The first year of our Junior School has been full of enjoyment and many happy memories, and I have no doubt Term 4 will be the same!
