I hope you all had a refreshing break and are feeling ready for the busy and exciting term ahead where we celebrate the achievements and successes of our students.
Term 4 celebrates the journey of our 2025 Year 12 students at LHC. On Sunday, we held the Graduation Dinner — a special opportunity for students, families, and staff to come together and reflect on this important milestone. Our celebrations continue next week with the Student Farewell Assembly on Friday.
During Week 8, our Year 9 students recognise the end of their Middle School journey and transition to the beloved white shirt and Senior School.
We also celebrate our inaugural Year 6 students as they end their Junior School journey and transition to the Middle School.
Finally, we commemorate our first Year of the Junior School with the Blessing of our Butterfly Wall. Thank you to the families, staff and community groups that have donated generously to the development of play spaces.
Below you’ll find key dates, events, and celebrations coming up across all areas of the College

We congratulate Ms Jacinta McIntosh on her promotion to Acting Dean of Student Wellbeing and Mr Matthew Harrison on Acting House Pastoral Leader – Healy as Ms Joanne Brasch-McPhee takes Long Service Leave. This term we welcome several staff to our College and others back from leave.

The upper floor of Timor Leste Building (H Block) has been gutted for the Junior School extension over the Term break. It will house Learning Support staff spaces, a separate Junior School reception space for students and 1 multipurpose room (with a wet area) and 1 Specialist room with tiered seating.
Planning is underway for the capital projects for 2026 which includes the redevelopment of the Kiribati building (K Block) area of the College. We will share future plans with you as they become available.
2026 marks two key milestones for the College. The College celebrates its 110th year of educating girls and our Past Pupil Association celebrates its 100th anniversary.

The College will celebrate it’s 110 year Anniversary with two significant events - a Mass at Chandler Theatre on Friday 20 February followed by Lourdes Day activities (Cheer Competition etc.) and the Blessing of the Wall of Stars. A Community/Family event will also be held on Saturday 21 February at Morningside Panthers.
Students will receive a commemorative pin of our celebratory logo that has been designed for this occasion and linking to our 2026 theme “Be the Light” through the star.

Our Past Pupils are currently finalising their events and will have several pieces of merchandise to mark their 100 year Anniversary and a commemorative pin which is a stylised version of Duhig Hall.
I look forward to celebrating the culminating events with you, our students and staff as we move towards the completion of the 2025 Academic Year.
With Kindness, peace and hope
Kay
