On Monday afternoon we celebrated the Year 9 cohorts completion of Middle School at the St Bernadette Senior School Induction Ceremony in the Good Samaritan Centre.
The ceremony commenced with a short video clip of the Year 9s walking past our College grotto in their purple shirts and soon after, the students entered the GSC wearing their new white shirts and senior uniform. This procession was a significant one that represented their journey from Middle School to Senior School and additionally, the procession at Lourdes in France that is shared by millions of pilgrims each year.
The Lourdes Medal was presented to students in the ceremony as a symbol of the hope to energise students through their senior years. Congratulations Year 9s and we look forward to this new senior phase of your learning journey in 2026.
Last Thursday evening, parents and staff farewelled our Seniors of 2025 at The Sleeman Centre at Chandler. The ceremony featured a liturgy in which the graduating class were supported by our prayers of hope for their future life journey.
A highlight of the ceremony was the way in which students entered the venue together in a candlelight procession. The light that each student carried reflected the amazing gifts they have shared within our community. The Year 12s have made a significant commitment to the academic, wellbeing, service, sport and cultural sectors during their time at the College. The candlelight that surrounded the auditorium represented how each student will be a beacon for peace and hope for all people they encounter in their future lives.
The College’s three stories are significant on all students’ journey through school and to recognise the connection to St Benedict, all senior students were presented with a special gift of the Saint Benedict Medal, which were handmade in Lourdes, France.
The College Captains and student leaders, have encouraged the cohort to create a culture of kindness and compassion in our school community and we know they will make a positive difference in the world.
Below are some highlights from the Farewell and Graduation Ceremony.
