Middle School Academic Mentoring

X

At Lourdes Hill College, our Academic Mentoring Program assists in formally developing relationships between students and their Academic Mentors in order to support and encourage students to meet their full academic potential. The process also highlights and promotes the Habits of Mind that Lourdes Hill College feels are an essential part of an individual student's learning journey.

A main focus of the program in the Middle School is “learning how to learn” with an ongoing reflection on academic progress. From Year 7, students begin to develop their skills in notetaking, time management and general study techniques in weekly Academic Mentoring lessons. These are designed to instil academic concepts and learning techniques vital for student success in the Senior years.

Our programs are designed to be personalised and student-centred with data-supported learning. Every student learns to engage with her own personal Data Dashboard based on progressive subject results and her individual goal setting.
