2024 International Women's Day Guest Speakers

The 2024 Lourdes Hill College International Women’s Day Breakfast fosters the 2024 IWD Theme #InspireInclusion with our panel of guest speakers working to build our future.

We are excited to welcome LHC Parent and journalist, presenter, broadcaster and emcee Victoria Carthew to emcee the panel of inspirational women who are making significant contributions to their respective fields. 

Victoria Carthew

Victoria is a respected journalist, presenter, broadcaster and emcee. She has worked at the Seven Network for more than two decades; Currently a presenter with the Seven Network's popular travel and lifestyle program, 'Weekender', she travels the state showcasing the best in tourism, food, wine and adventure, with a particular passion for Eco-tourism and the Outback. 

Victoria emcees business and sports events for the Brisbane Broncos a host of the Queensland's top awards evenings. She is also a regular conference and event facilitator, working across health, business, hospitality, aviation and shipping and logistics.




Emily Trowse (Grad 2015)

Emily works as a Contract Administrator for a Tier 3 commercial construction company (Trowse Constructions).

She completed a Bachelor of Urban Development majoring in Construction Management at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

In her role as a Contract Administrator, she procures the subcontractors and manages them from an administrative perspective throughout the project. Additionally, liaising with the client for head contract requirements. The position also has design coordination, construction management and problem-solving elements.




Gabby Emmerton (Grad 2017)

Gabby graduated from LHC in 2017 before moving to Bundaberg to commence a Bachelor of Agriculture at CQUniversity. She currently works as a Technical Officer working for the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries at Brian Pastures Research Facility, Gayndah QLD, where she conducts field and laboratory data collection and analysis.

She also works with extension officers on projects that enable her to work one-on-one with local producers within the Burnett Mary region to enhance their knowledge by opening communication channels to other extension officers around Queensland.



Laura West (Grad 1999)

Laura is a Civil Engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) Honours and is currently working at the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority as the Area Manager on the new Boggo Road underground station. She is a collaborative, strong and vibrant team leader with two decades experience in program and project delivery across the planning, design and construction of major infrastructure projects.

She has extensive experience in project management, leadership roles and design management, working on major projects in the rail, tunnel, construction, road, and water industries both domestically and internationally.
