Appointment of Head of Junior School

Lourdes Hill College is excited to announce the appointment of our new Head of Junior School. After a rigorous external application process attracting a strong field of applicants, the College is delighted to announce that Mrs Caitlin McDonald has been appointed the inaugural Head of Junior School.

The College is confident that Mrs McDonald’s passion for, and expertise in, Primary Education and its juncture with our Middle School will ensure the continued development of our outstanding Years 5 and 6 Program. We know that Mrs McDonald will continue to build on the work already completed by the LHC Team and will work in partnership with Students, Staff and Families to bring our Junior School to life for 2025.

Mrs McDonald holds a Bachelor of Education – Middle School, a Bachelor of Science and is currently completing a Master of Educational Leadership. Beginning her education career in the upper Primary School environment, she began her teaching journey at LHC in 2016 and has been instrumental in the development of our Middle School. In the Middle School, Mrs McDonald held Middle School Curriculum Leader roles from 2016 to 2018 and the Middle School Head of Faculty (Investigation) from 2019 to 2022.

Mrs McDonald said she is excited and energised to lead the Junior School Team at Lourdes Hill College in its inaugural year and aims to uphold and enhance the educational, cultural, and spiritual standards of the College.

"As an educator, I am dedicated to fostering positive home-school partnerships, encouraging student ownership, and offering diverse learning opportunities for success. The Junior School will provide an engaging Curriculum with ample opportunities for students to grow and connect through Sports, Service, and Cultural activities," she said. 

A Lourdes Hill College Past Pupil, Mrs McDonald possesses an unwavering passion for embracing life and continuous learning in every facet of College life. She has played a pivotal role in shaping the College's Duke of Edinburgh Program and actively participates in the College Homework Club and Social Justice Programs.

Mrs McDonald is a dynamic educator and leader passionate about inspiring young girls to make a difference, live the Rule of St Benedictine and be hope-filled people equipped with skills, knowledge and passion to step into our Middle School with confidence, energy and zeal. We offer her our heartfelt congratulations on this appointment and look forward to seeing her vision for our Junior School come alive ready to welcome our first Years 5 and 6 cohort in 2025.
